Shark fishing is a popular sport in many areas. Some people enjoy the thrill of the catch and then release the shark back into the wild. Some actually enjoy eating shark meat and want to catch one for the dinner table. In any event, you need bait.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Shop for your shark bait down at the local public fishing piers. Plan to go the day before your shark fishing expedition. Walk the piers and look for fishermen who've had a good day or night of fishing. Look for grouper, bonito, jacks, bluefish and barracuda. Heads, entrails and any other parts make good chum. Tell her you're looking to buy shark bait and offer to pay cash for whole fish or for parts.

  2. Step 2

Call around to local bait shops. Ask if they stock any type of bait that is good for shark fishing. Sometimes you are lucky and find stingray, a great shark bait.

  3. Step 3

Visit the fishing docks and check with the captain or crew of charter fishing boats. Tell them you are looking to buy shark bait. Sometimes a charter boat will have extra fish bait that they're willing to sell, either because they overstocked or because they have leftovers due to a slack day. Ask around for the charter boats that specialize in shark fishing.

  4. Step 4

Remember there's always the local fish market. Or, find a grocery store that has a fresh fish and seafood section. You must be prepared to pay more, of course, but there will usually be a good selection. Whole fish, shrimp, squid and baby octopus are all good options for shark bait.
