Planet Racer is a fun space-based racing game. The game pits the player against racers who compete to circle a planet the fastest. Beating higher skilled opponents helps you beat the game quicker, but is also a risky approach. This game combines strategy with vehicle customization for a great online game experience.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Step1
Click "Race" on the bottom of your screen and you will see several planets appear. Select a planet by hovering over it and reading the details displayed. When you find the one you wish to race on, click it.
Step2
Choose a racer to compete against. You can negotiate the terms by clicking the up or down arrows, or clicking on the dollar amount to switch between racing for cash and racing for cars. Press "Decline" to hear a new offer or "Accept" to race the challenger shown.
Step3
Drive using the four arrows on your keyboard. Up accelerates, down is used for braking. You can also control the pitch of your car in flight with the left and right arrows. Press the spacebar to engage your afterburners.
Step4
Race the opposite direction of your opponent around the planet and try to get to the finish line first.
Step5
Control your vehicle's lean using the left and right arrows as you drive to help it always land on its wheels. The best way to land is to hit the rear wheels down slightly before the front wheels. Keep landings as soft as possible.
Step6
Watch the display at the top left of your screen to see your position in the race. The display consists of a large circle with two small arrows circling it. If your arrow is farther around the circle, you are winning the race.
Step7
Win races to increase your reputation and earn money. The goal of the game is to reach the king's moon and challenge him to a race. Skill and a fast car are necessary to beat the king and win the game.

Tips & Warnings

  • Look at the reputation of the competitors wishing to race you. The higher their reputation the more likely they will be difficult to beat.
  • Generally it is a better idea to race for money than cars. Earn enough money and you can buy any upgrade you wish. Racing for cars runs the risk you will lose one that you have put a lot of money into.
  • Note the travel cost associated with each planet. You need more money to get to the more challenging planets.
  • Avoid hard landings or parts of your car become damaged and you have to spend money to fix it.
  • Be careful using your afterburner in flight because it noses your car down and can cause you to land hard or even flip, costing you valuable time during a race.
