    Instructions

    Things You'll Need

    • Pecans
    • Oven
    • Butter
    • Microwave oven or small saucepan
    • Cookie Sheet (non-stick preferably)
      • 1

Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F.

      • 2

Melt butter in a microwave safe dish in your microwave or use a small saucepan.

      • 3

Evenly coat the pecans in the melted butter.

      • 4

Spread out the butter-coated pecans out on a non-stick cookie sheet in a single layer.

      • 5

Put the cookie sheet in the oven and watch the pecans closely while they toast.

      • 6

Toss the pecans once or twice while they are toasting. This allows for even toasting.

      • 7

Toast the pecans until they are crisp and aromatic. This will usually take about 10 to 15 minutes.

    Tips & Warnings

    • Pecans can also be toasted without any melted butter or other fat. To do this, use a non-stick cookie sheet or line a cookie sheet with parchment paper. Toast as indicated above.

    • You can also use cooking spray instead of melted butter when toasting pecans. Spray the cookie sheet. Place the pecans on the sheet and toast as indicated above.

    • To save time, melt the butter in a shallow jellyroll pan in the oven, and then add the pecans and toast. There will be less clean-up.

    • Watch your pecans in the oven so you don't burn them.
