How to Visit The University of Oklahoma

The public University of Oklahoma, located in Norman, Oklahoma, awards degrees in various academic subjects at the Bachelor's, Master's and doctoral levels. The Norman campus houses most university programs. Here's the best way to visit it if you're interested in going to school there.

Instructions
  1. Step 1

    Go to the University of Oklahoma home page. Click the "Prospective Students" link at the top of the page.

  2. Step 2

    Click the appropriate link for information, resources and contacts if you are a graduate student, transfer student or international student.

  3. Step 3

    Take a campus tour or attend a group information session via the "Visit OU" link. Ask questions about admissions, academic programs, student life and extracurricular activities.

  4. Step 4

    Follow the "Click here to locate the Visitor Center" link for driving directions to the campus, distances from surrounding cities and see a map of the Visitor Center in Jacobson Hall.

  5. Step 5

    Find the Visitor Center in Jacobson Hall. Here you will find your tour guide and other information about the campus.

Tips & Warnings
  • In addition to the campus tour, the University of Oklahoma offers group, self-guided, children's and historic tours. Group tours can be tailored to specific areas and buildings of interest. Contact the Visitor Center to make arrangements.
  • Call ahead to confirm the schedule of information sessions and tours, especially if you have a number of activities and appointments planned for your visit.
  • If you are unable to visit the University of Oklahoma in person, click the "Meet Your OU Rep" link to find alumni contacts closer to your home.
  • Academic programs in health-related fields are housed in the OU Health Sciences Center in Oklahoma City and the Schusterman Center in Tulsa. Contact the Visitor Center for more information on these programs and locations.
  • The University's famous athletic programs include the Oklahoma Sooner football team. Visit the University of Oklahoma Sooners Athletics web site for information about teams and tickets.
  • Parking is tightly regulated on campus. Have your license plate information ready for the Visitor Center to document.
