How to Hide a Vacuum Cleaner

Sometimes a house doesn't feel clean until everything is put away in its place. If you are having problems finding a spot for your vacuum cleaner, here are some helpful tips on hiding it so that it is out of the way.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Step1
Make room in a closet. Store it in a first-floor coat closet if that is the floor you vacuum the most.
Step2
Find space in a laundry room. Sometimes there is room between the washing machine and dryer that is just big enough for a smaller vacuum.
Step3
Lay your vacuum cleaner flat so it can fit under the bed--that is, providing your vacuum cleaner folds flat and you have space under your bed.
Step4
Move things in the pantry to make room. If you have a walk=in pantry, chances are there is a lot more room in there than you think. Just clear some room on the floor.
Step5
Buy a cover for a vacuum you plan to leave out in the open. They come in a variety of styles and colors. Find a cover that matches the rest of the decor in your home.
Step6
Clean out a space in the garage. If you have exhausted all other options, you should be able to find a few feet to hide a vacuum cleaner in there.

Tips & Warnings

  • If all else fails, use your vacuum cleaner as a coat hanger or call it art when friends come over. Just make sure it is not dusty if you plan on doing that.
  • Don't forget to wind the cord so no one trips over it, no matter where you decide to hide your vacuum cleaner.
