How to Find BitTorrent Files Online

Many programs use peer-to-peer (P2P) networking to share files. Napster and Limewire are just a few. Another method of P2P is something called a bittorrent network. Finding files on the Internet that are shared as BitTorrents is easy.

Things You’ll Need:

• A BitTorrent client program (BitTorrent, BitTornado, Azureus)

1. Search the Internet for "bittorrents" or "torrent" sites. Many sites on the Internet serve as search engines for torrent files.
2. Go to the sites found in Step 1. Each site works slightly differently. Some are free and some require that you pay a membership fee to access archived files.
3. Enter terms into the search engines of the files that you are seeking. Often you will need to check many of these engines to find your files. Since these sites are for P2P network users, you can often post a request for a file that is hard to find.
4. Download the file the search engine takes you to. It tells the Torrent client where to find the file and start the download process.
