Step 1
Select options by pushing in the black scroll button. This works for all menus.
-
Step 2
Use the flash indoors. Turn on the flash by pushing the "Left" arrow key next to the red shutter button. Allow up to a minute for the flash to charge. When the "A" and lightning bolt on the left side of the LCD display stop flashing, the flash is ready. The flash does not work in MACRO mode. Check the slide button on the right side of the camera. Make certain the button is down near the man and mountain symbols.
-
Step 3
Connect to the TV by turning the camera on. Change the mode to "Set," and scroll down to "TV." Select "NTSC" by pressing the black scroll button. Connect the AV cable from the camera to the television. Turn the TV to an auxiliary channel (usually 2 or 3) and press the playback button near the power switch.
-
Step 4
Groove to some tunes by using the MP3 player on your digital camcorder. Turn the camera on, changing the mode to "MP3." Insert the USB cable into the camcorder and the computer. A menu should pop up on the LCD viewer. Select Mass Storage and push in the black scroll button.
-
Step 5
Transfer files from your digital camcorder to your computer by turning the camera on. Connect the camera to the computer with a USB cable. Your LCD should say "PC Connection." Highlight "Mass Storage" and press in the scroll wheel. A window with options for copying files should appear on your computer. If the window doesn't pop up, go to "My Computer" and look for a removable drive that represents your camcorder. Double-click the icon to find a folder called "DCIM." Double-click that folder and find 101 DG Cam for your video files.
-
Step 6
Maximize recording time by buying better batteries. The DXG digital camcorder comes with 4 alkaline AA batteries, which only last about 30 minutes. Invest in NiMH rechargeable batteries for 5 hours of recording time.
