NASA has many opportunities for engineers, accountants, public relations people and other professionals at their many facilities, which are located throughout the world. Here's how you can get to work for this prestigious organization.

Difficulty: Moderately Challenging
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Go to the USA jobs website. This is the site where the Federal government lists all of their job vacancies. Select the "Agency Search" tab on the second menu bar on the top of the main page.

  2. Step 2

Go to the second data box on that page. Keep scrolling until you see "National Aeronautics & Space Administration." If you want to work for NASA and don't particularly care where you work for them, choose the main, capitalized entry. If you have a certain facility in mind, choose that facility underneath the main entry.

  3. Step 3

Refine your results by selecting an occupational series in the fourth data box.

  4. Step 4

Click one of the vacancies listed. The vacancy will list a salary range, education required, duties and employment benefits for that position. Click the "Apply Online" button along the bottom of the position information.

  5. Step 5

Prepare your USA jobs membership account. Enter your mailing information, select a password and specify if you are eligible for veterans' preference.

  6. Step 6

Submit your application information online. Most of the jobs require basic resume information and background information.

Tips & Warnings
  • Check the USA jobs website often. It may be a while before your ideal job shows up online.
  • Be patient when waiting for a response to your application. The government hiring process can take months to complete, even for an entry level job.
