Handcrafted all natural seed bracelets can be made from virtually any type of seed. You can make a simple seed bracelet using a slight variation on the daisy chain pattern to create your own unique wave style organic bracelet. Perfect for beginning beaders, this project can be completed in under an hour and once mastered can be modified to create your own one-of-a-kind seed bracelet. Read on to learn how to make a seed bracelet.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 10 lb. beading thread
  • Size 10 beading needles
  • Small seeds with holes for beading (8 mm)
  • Large seeds with holes for beading (14/15 mm)
  1. Step 1

Cut the beading thread to a length of at least four times the finished length, and thread a needle. It is best to begin with more thread than you need, than too little.

  2. Step 2

Determine how many seeds it will take to make a wave around the larger seeds. Do this by laying out the smaller seeds in a ring around a large seed. Each wave will require half the number of seeds.

  3. Step 3

Attach a large seed to the end of the thread, which will make the final clasp of your bracelet. String the number of seeds determined in the previous step plus one large seed and let them slide toward the seed clasp.

  4. Step 4

Run the needle through all of the small seeds, beginning with the small seed next the seed clasp to make a circle, but do not pass the needle through the large seed. Tighten the thread to create the first wave. At this point, you should be able to tell whether you need to add or remove small seeds to make the proper sized wave.

  5. Step 5

Repeat this pattern so that the waves make an over under pattern around the large seeds.

  6. Step 6

Create the clasp loop when the wave pattern is sufficiently long for your bracelet. Again, you will have to experiment a bit to determine how many small seeds needed to make the clasp.

  7. Step 7

Pass the thread through the seed loop several times for strength. Tie a knot and run the needle through a few seeds and cut the thread. You may choose to run the thread the opposite direction through the wave pattern to reinforce the entire bracelet.

Tips & Warnings
  • Experiment with different sizes and types of beads. Try crystals as the large center pieces, or poke holes in watermelon seeds to make the waves.
