The big day is quickly approaching and there are so many things to think about. But one thing that may get lost in the shuffle, is you. After all. it's your big day and you want to look and feel your absolute best. Well, one way is to have flat abs for your wedding. Even though your midriff won't be showing, it will aid you with better posture and a better overall shape that allows you to accentuate your curves against your waist.

From Quick Guide: Flat Belly Diet
Difficulty: Moderately Challenging
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Calculate your ideal Body Mass Index. This is also known as your B.M.I. Check out the National Institute of Health's official site (see Resources below). Fill in your height, weight and other characteristics to get your ideal B.M.I.

  2. Step 2

Lose weight to reach your B.M.I. For your stomach to be flat and your hard work to show, you must be around your ideal number. Otherwise, you may have built some nice muscle, but layers of fat will cover it. Restrict your diet in a gradual manner to reach your goal. Weighing yourself bi-weekly is a big help as you can tell if you are succeeding or failing.

  3. Step 3

Work your groove thing. This is just a flashy way to say, "Do cardio." Whether it's running, biking, hiking, swimming or aerobics, get your heart pumping for at least 30 minutes 5 times a week. If you are not used to this workout, the fat will melt very quickly. If you already work out on a regular basis, you may have to extend the amount of time, or cross-train.

  4. Step 4

Work your ab muscles. Unfortunately, sit-ups cannot be avoided. They are the only piece of this pie that will really do their job to tone your tummy. Check out workoutsforbrides.com (see Resources below) for great belly busting techniques. You can't do enough crunches. Do them when you wake up and do them before you go to bed. Also, be sure to target each muscle group in the abs. This means, getting the entire six pack and the side ab muscles as well.

  5. Step 5

Refuse carbohydrates after 3 p.m. in the final 10 days before your wedding. This seems a bit extreme, but it is one of the most important things. You can almost recover from any other dietary slip-up early in the day. But by cutting the carbs, your body will then burn protein and eventually the fat on your body. This will certainly aid in you getting flat abs for the wedding.
