A Star Trek party is a simple party to prepare that Star Trek fans and Star Trek novices can both enjoy. Since Star Trek spans several decades a party is also appropriate for a range of ages. To throw a successful Star Trek party, keep it authentic with these party planning trips.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Star Trek Crests
  • Invitations
  • Christmas lights
  • Vinyl tablecloths
  • Markers
  • Strobe light with red lens
  • Faux fur
  1. Step 1

Send Star Trek themed invitations to family and friends including the date, time, location and whether costumes are appropriate. Include a crest or shuttlecraft on the front of the party invitation. Remember a Star Trek party works well as a Halloween party.

  2. Step 2

Decorate the location to resemble the inside of one of the Star Trek ships. Use small, white Christmas lights and cheap black vinyl tablecloths on the walls to create the look of a starship interior. Draw on grey vinyl tablecloths to create turbo lift doors, communication panels and ship controls. Use a strobe light on slow speed with a red tinted lens to create the red alert signal.

  3. Step 3

Create several dozen Tribbles out of fake fur to add authenticity to the party. Place Tribbles all over the location and even in cabinets and behind doors

  4. Step 4

Prepare food and drink from the Star Trek shows such as Klingon Blood Wine. Visit Klingonfood for additional Star Trek recipes.

  5. Step 5

Dress in a Star Trek costume. Buy a costume from a costume store or make one from garage sale or thrift store finds. Research character costumes from the six TV series and ten movies.

  6. Step 6

Include Star Trek inspired games. A costume contest with prizes is the basic game that everyone can do. Play a Star Trek trivia game in the Jeopardy format or have a Tribble scavenger hunt. Consult the Star Trek website for trivia to include.
