Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Sterile container
  • Microwave
  • 2 glass measuring cups/measuring spoons
  • Oil of your choice
  • Powdered stearic acid
  • Vitamin E capsules
  • Aloe vera gel
  • Water
  • Baking soda
  • Glycerine
  1. Step 1

Determine your skin type in order to know what products to purchase. The product for normal skin is different than for oily or combination types.

  2. Step 2

Take your list to the health food store or craft store to see if they have what you need. Craft stores usually sell powdered stearic acid (a thickening agent). The oil you choose for the base can be sunflower oil, olive oil or almond oil. Grapeseed oil is best if your skin is sensitive or you are prone to allergies.

  3. Step 3

Start with clean hands so you don't contaminate your products. Sterilize a container or jar that will hold about a cup of facial cream. Boil the container in hot water for approximately 5 minutes to kill germs.

  4. Step 4

Combine 1/8 cup of the oil of your choice with powdered stearic acid (as directed on the package) and the contents of three vitamin E capsules into a glass measuring cup. Mix well and set aside.

  5. Step 5

Mix 1/4 cup aloe vera gel with 1/4 cup water, 1/8 cup of baking soda and 1 tbs. of glycerine in a second glass measuring cup. Stir it well and set it aside.

  6. Step 6

Microwave the glycerine mixture until it boils.

  7. Step 7

Microwave the powder mixture and stir every 10 seconds until the mixture thickens and the powder is dissolved. Pour powder into glycerine solution and mix until it is a fluffy consistency. Place into a sterile container with a tightly covered lid and store in the refrigerator up to 3 days. Use about a tablespoon liberally over face as needed.
