Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 2 sheets or small parachutes
  • Leaves
  • Markers
  1. Step 1

Gather as many kids as possible. Ideally you should have at least six children, broken into two teams of three. If you have more children, divide them evenly into two teams.

  2. Step 2

Provide each team with a name. You can also have the teams break away and choose a name for themselves.

  3. Step 3

Lay the two sheets out on the lawn. The sheets should be at least 10 yards apart. Allow the kids to decorate their sheets using markers. They can put their team name on the sheets or decorate it with fall pictures.

  4. Step 4

Instruct the teams to disperse evenly around the perimeter of their sheet after they have finished decorating.

  5. Step 5

Dump one large bag of leaves in the middle of each sheet.

  6. Step 6

Ask the teams to grab a hold of their sheet and lift it slowly until it is at waist level. Remind the team members that they will be disqualified if any leaves fall off the sheet before your say "Start."

  7. Step 7

Tell the team members to wait for you to say start. Inform them that as soon as you say, "Start," they should shake the sheet as hard as they can. The first team to get all the leaves off their sheet is the winner.
