Here are some of the most useful graphics tools found in Microsoft Publisher, with directions on how to use them.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderate

Step1
Make a picture's background transparent or opaque. You can change areas of a picture from transparent to opaque or from opaque back to transparent.
Step2
Rotate objects. To rotate objects freely, place your pointer on the green rotation handle. Drag the mouse in the direction you want the object to rotate. To rotate objects by 90 degrees, select Rotate or Flip from the Arrange menu and then select the option you want.
Step3
Flip an object. On the Arrange menu, select Rotate or Flip. To flip an object horizontally, click Flip Horizontal. To flip an object vertically, click Flip Vertical.
Step4
Align objects in a row. Select the objects you want to align. On the Arrange menu, select Align or Distribute, then select the option you want.
Step5
Add a shadow to an object. Select the object you want to change. On the Formatting toolbar, click Shadow Style and select the shadow style you want. To remove a shadow, click No Shadow.
Step6
Change the shape of the picture's outline. To see the outline, click on the picture. On the Arrange menu, select Text Wrapping and then click Edit Wrap Points. You'll see a red dashed outline with square black handles around the picture. Change the shape of the outline by dragging the black handles to increase or decrease white space around the picture.
