Your email messages to those you know and love can be enhanced by adding extra content other than just your words. The advances in technology have allowed ways of including pictures, audio messages and video clips into our emails.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • Webcam or electronic camera capable of taking video clips
  • Program that will make video clips and save them as a ".wmv" format file
  • Email account
  • Eudora installed on your computer

Preparing your video message

Step1
Set up the camera or webcam so that it is able to transmit the video to the computer.
Step2
Take a test clip so that you can see where you have to stand and to make sure that you can be seen in the clip that you will make.
Step3
Start the program that will capture the video from your camera or webcam.
Step4
Deliver your message.
Step5
Stop the recording and review the message.
Step6
Edit the message if necessary with the program that took the video clip.
Step7
Save the finished clip as a ".wmv" file.

Sending your email with video attached

Step1
Open Eudora on your computer.
Step2
Choose the "new message" button.
Step3
Fill in the email address of the person to which you are sending email. Fill in the subject line.
Step4
Type your text message to this person.
Step5
Click the "attach document" button on the toolbar.
Step6
Find the video file that you created in Section 1 and select it.
Step7
Press the "Send" button on the toolbar.

Tips & Warnings

  • Make sure you are happy with the video you have made. You can always remake it so take your time.
  • After you have saved the file, try and open it in the Windows Media Player to make sure it will play after you send it to your friend or family.
  • You may have problems sending very large video files due to the fact that some ISP limit the size of files that can be sent or received in email.
