- Multi-cat Kitty litter
- Baking soda

Dry the pair of smelly tennis shoes in the sun. You cannot attempt to clean them properly until this step is done. The sun will also act in the first step of removing the smell from the tennis shoes.

Use a pair of knee high stockings and fill them up with multi-cat kitty litter, then place in shoes. This will not only help with absorbing moisture in the tennis shoes but also help with removing the stench.

Sprinkle baking soda into the tennis shoes. This will absorb the moisture and help with preventing the smell. This is a cheap and inexpensive way to keep the smell out of your tennis shoes.

Add rubbing alcohol to a spray bottle; this is an effective way to prevent smelly tennis shoes. Take the time to spray the shoes with the rubbing alcohol each time before you wear them.
