Keeping score at a baseball game makes the game more interesting. It keeps your attention focused, helps you keep up with each player's stats and relieves the boredom between the plays.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Score card
  1. Step 1

Buy a program. In the middle of the program is a scorecard that you can use to keep score of all the action.

  2. Step 2

Write down the names of the teams that are playing.

  3. Step 3

Write down the starting lineup for each team. You need to capture the names of the players and the position they are playing in the appropriate boxes. If you don't get them all at the beginning, you will get a chance when they come up to bat.

  4. Step 4

Record the play in the box provided. The shorthand for a single is 1B, a double is 2B and a triple is 3B. A homerun is HR.

  5. Step 5

Follow the rest of the inning. There is a page in the resource section that will tell you how to record each play. You can also make up your own shorthand for recording each play.

  6. Step 6

Continue to notate each play throughout the game. Being a baseball scorekeeper helps you learn the game and gives you a souvenir.
