Step 1
Follow washer and drier instructions for your tropical dress uniforms. Navy tropical dress uniforms are white, so remove stains before you throw them into the washing machine. Pull them out of the dryer as soon as they're dry.
-
Step 2
Place your Navy tropical dress white uniform shirt on a hanger, and your tropical dress pants on a hanger designed for pants. Fill your iron with water so that you could steam iron. Fill a spray bottle with water. Spray the area you're going to iron before you iron it.
-
Step 3
Iron the collars and sleeves. Lay the collars on the ironing board, spray and iron it. Grab the bottom seam, and flatten the collar out with your hands. Spray water over the sleeve and iron it. Do this again with the other sleeve.
-
Step 4
Iron creases into your Navy tropical dress uniform. Three creases go in the back, two creases go in the front, one to each side. The middle back crease must be centered, and the two side creases can be centered between the middle crease and the side seams.
-
Step 5
Place your tropical dress shirt, front right section, on the ironing board. Water spray that part, then iron it. Move the ironed part away from you and place a new section on the ironing board. Repeat the process. The trick is to "rotate" your shirt over the ironing board as you iron it.
-
Step 6
Hang your ironed Navy tropical dress uniform shirt on a hanger and grab your tropical dress pants. Place the ironing board in the pant's "pelvis" portion. Place the pocket area flush with the ironing board's tapered section. Spray and iron that section, then slowly rotate the pants to a new section then repeat the cycle.
-
Step 7
Place the pant's leg on the ironing board, spray water on it then apply the iron. Repeat this process on the other pant leg. Hang the ironed pants on a hanger.
