How to Iron Navy Utility Uniforms
Navy utilities won't be around in the future; wear yours with pride while they're still around and iron them with pride, as you're making history. You're one of the last people to wear that uniform. Follow the steps below until you establish your own ironing system.

1
Inspect your Navy utility uniform for wear and tear. Make sure your patches aren't peeling off. Replace any utility uniform that's not serviceable.
-
2
Read and follow the washing and drying instructions on your navy utility uniforms. This helps to ensure their longevity. Place your utilities on a hanger after they're dry, and be sure to use a hanger designed for pants. Hang both shirt and pants within easy reach of your ironing board.

3
Fill a spray bottle and your iron with water. Combined spray and steam iron application gives your utility a sharp appearance at the cheapest cost.
-
4
Iron your utility shirt the way you'd iron a long sleeved collared shirt. Place the collar on the ironing board, spray it once and then run the iron over it. Grab the first sleeve by the seam, hold the seam and flatten the sleeve out with your hands. Spray it once, then the iron over it. Do the same thing with the other sleeve.

5
Place the navy utility uniform shirt on the square section of the ironing board. Make sure it's flush so that you could completely iron the uniform's one side. Use the same "spray then iron cycle" you used on the collar and sleeves. Rotate the utility shirt around the ironing board as you iron new sections.
-
6
Grab your navy utility uniform pants and pull it inside out. Place the pelvis section on the tapered end of the ironing board, flush with the zipper section. Apply the spray, then iron. Rotate the pelvis section until you get to the other end.

7
Move from the pelvis section to the pant legs. Simply grab the seams and flatten the pants on the ironing board, seam to seam. Apply water spray on the pants length before applying the iron. Repeat this on the other pant leg and then adjust the pants right side out and hang it on the hanger.
