You want tickets to the next Saints, Browns or Patriots game. The box office is closed, and Ticketmaster is sold out. All of your other NFL ticket sources have run dry. When your every move is blocked by the opposition, it's time to check the sales bins and auction bays at eBay. Find a variety of seat selections, and buy your tickets from individuals or via eBay's broker, StubHub.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • Account at eBay
  • Official NFL schedule and stadium-seating map

Step1
Visit eBay and sign in or create a buyer's account through the "Register" link (see Resources below).
Step2
Read eBay's terms and conditions, so you don't end up making unwanted purchases or other mistakes.
Step3
Use one of the various search methods to shop for tickets, such as typing in the specific game date and event or entering a broad search for "NFL tickets."
Step4
Click on a ticket-description headline to view the seating, price and other details.
Step5
Keep track of likely ticket prospects by clicking "Watch this item" under the ticket description. You'll be able to save and review data on your choices.
Step6
Buy tickets at the fixed prices offered for some tickets by clicking "Buy it now." Follow further prompts to complete your purchase.
Step7
Bid on an item by clicking "Place bid" and entering the required information. You'll be notified by email if you win the auction.
Step8
Make a payment according to seller conditions.

Tips & Warnings

  • You'll have to register an account in order to make a bid or purchase on eBay.
  • StubHub is a site that posts broker sales and unregulated, individual sales. It's affiliated with eBay, but subject to different rules.
  • If you don't have time to follow the bidding on the tickets you want, eBay will "proxy bid" for you.
  • Avoid a rip-off by making sure that the game in question exists. Use your NFL schedule to learn the date of the event, and check it against the seller's description.
  • A "click" to purchase is considered a legally binding agreement. Be ready to spend before you click.
  • Be cautious when using payment methods other than credit cards or PayPal.
  • Follow eBay's rules for buyers, or you may be shut out from future purchases.
