How to Support an Ultimate Fighter

Most people have favorite sports teams and athletes, and Ultimate Fighting fans are no different. There are no teams to cheer for, but it's easy to support an Ultimate Fighter.

1. Get ringside tickets to support an Ultimate Fighter during an official UFC event. Tickets and travel expenses can make attending a UFC event very pricey, but it's the best way to show your support as a fan. Fight details and match ups are usually announced several months before the date of the UFC event.
2. Look for merchandise that includes your favorite fighter. It can be hard to find T-shirts that feature just one fighter, although some match ups are on official event clothing. You can even have an artist draw a poster-sized portrait of a fighter if you bring her a photo of him.
3. Spend time cheering on your favorite Ultimate Fighter at a sports bar if you can't attend the event in person. If you memorize some of the Fighter's statistics, you can use them to debate likely outcomes of the event with other UFC fans.
4. Host a UFC fight night party at your house in honor of your favorite fighter. If you ask for a few dollars from each person, you can minimize the costs of ordering the event on live television.
5. Support an Ultimate Fighter online in various UFC discussion forums. You can find several large and popular forums, either official or not, like the MMA forum (see Resources below). Forums can be a great source of information, as well as the home of heated debates when there's a high-profile match coming up.
6. Consider doing some friendly betting with your friends on how well your favorite fighter will perform. If you've memorized statistics of a few fighters, you can use those to support your friendly arguments about which fighter is the best.

Tips & Warnings

• Be careful about any bets you make on your favorite fighter. Small bets with friends are fairly safe, but online and real sports betting are regulated by each state and has specific rules if it is legal.
• Some sports radio programs have started to discuss Ultimate Fighting. Calling in can be a great way to publicly support a UFC fighter.
