How to Attend Ultimate Pride Fighting Events

Pride fighting events are mixed martial arts contests between two athletes who fight in hand-to-hand combat. The Pride organization is based in Japan and only has a small number of events each year. It's expensive, but not impossible, to attend ultimate Pride fighting events.

1. Start saving up money for a trip to Japan. Most ultimate Pride fighting events are only one-day long, so you can book a minimal hotel stay or stay a little longer and take advantage of your trip and turn it into a vacation.
2. Make sure that your passport is still valid. You'll pay a modest fee to apply for a new passport or renew an expired one. Do this about three months before you're set to leave.
3. Get advance information on ticket sales by signing up for the online Pride newsletter (see Resources below).
4. Book your airfare and hotel after you secure tickets to attend an ultimate Pride fighting event. Try using various online travel sites to find the best deal. If you buy your plane ticket early, you'll often save a decent amount of money.
5. Pay attention to possible Pride events in the United States. This fighting organization is trying to expand into the US market to compete with other fighting leagues. Some Pride fighters occasionally fight in US leagues, like the Ultimate Fighting Championship.

• Pride rarely holds events outside of Japan, but Las Vegas is a good bet for future US-based events.
• Tokyo is the most common host for Pride fighting events.
