How to make simple pasta salad

Pasta salads come in a variety of styles, but this classic mayonnaise, egg and pasta recipe is sure to be a crowd-pleaser. With an unexpected zing from honey mustard, this salad makes the perfect accompaniment to any barbecue, picnic or potluck dinner.

Things You'll Need

• 1 8oz package pasta -- elbows, shells, or twists (your preference)
• 4 eggs, hard boiled
• ¼ cup finely chopped onion
• ¼ cup pickle relish
• ¾ teaspoon celery seed
• ¼ cup honey mustard
• Mayonnaise to desired consistency

Instructions

1. Boil the pasta as per the package directions. Drain the pasta and return it to the pan.

2. Shell and dice the boiled eggs.

3. Add the chopped eggs, onion, pickle relish, celery seed and honey mustard to the pasta in the pan. Mix thoroughly. Then add heaping spoonfuls of mayonnaise, stirring well after each spoonful, until the pasta salad becomes the consistency you desire.

4. Place the pasta salad in a serving bowl. The salad can be served warm right after making, but others may prefer it cold. Refrigerate for two hours before serving, then promptly refrigerate any leftovers.

Tips & Warnings

• The pasta will absorb some of the mayo, so to serve leftover salad, add a little bit of mayonnaise to freshen the consistency.

• This will be a barbecue favorite, so make plenty!!
