How to Make Homemade Spaghetti Sauce

Love Italian food? This recipe for Spaghetti Sauce will help you to love it even more. This is a great recipe for anyone who likes to make good food from scratch.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderate

Step1
Dice 1 large onion into a pot.
Step2
Add 1 teaspoon of garlic
Step3
Add in various meat. All are optional, but you can include:

1 1/2 pounds ground meat
6-8 links of hot Italian sausage
2-3 beef or pork neck bones

Cook until the meat is brown or until the onions are soft.

3 cans of tomato sauce.
Step6
1-2 cans of tomato paste.
Step7
2 -2 21/2 cans of water for every can of tomato paste. You can use the same cans to make everything even.

Stir everything together.
Step9
2 tablespoons of oregano.
Step10
2 tablespoons of basil.
Step11
1/2 to 1 teaspoon of sugar.
Step12
1 banana pepper (this is also optional).
Step13
Let the sauce reach boiling point at about medium heat. Then put it on simmer for at least 4 hours.

Tips & Warnings

  • The longer you simmer your sauce, the more taste it will have from the meat and from the spices.
  • Continue to stir throughout the day so that the sauce doesn't burn on the bottom.
