Promotional Temporary Tattoos have been around for a long time. They require water to apply to the skin. Because Waterless Tattoos are relatively new, people don't understand how they are applied without using water. They do not require water because they are heat-activated. That means less mess. Also, with water type tattoos, kids use their spit when there is no water handy. I know, because I've seen my kids and their little friends doing it. Waterless Tattoos eliminates that un-sanitary practice. Here's how to apply Waterless Tattoos.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • All you need is the waterless tattoo.
  1. Step 1

Make sure your skin is oil-free and dry. Sunscreen, suntan and other lotions will negatively impact the ability of the waterless tattoos to adhere to the skin.

  2. Step 2

Separate white backer sheet (that has instructions printed on it) from the clear sheet with the waterless tattoo on it.

Carefully place the clear sheet "sticky side" down on your skin.

  4. Step 4
Take your time with this part.

Cover the waterless tattoo with your hand, gently pressing down for :50 seconds. This is the important part. Sure, :50 seconds can seem like forever to a kid in the back seat of a car on a trip ... but that's the same amount of peace and quiet you'll enjoy as a parent.

  5. Step 5

Choose one corner and slowly peel the shiny cover off.

And there you have it. A Waterless Temporary Tattoo without using water. No mess, no fuss.

Tips & Warnings
  • Organizations can use Waterless Tattoos for fun indoor events. They also will apply to eggs, paper and plastic allowing them to be used in art and crafts projects.
  • Waterless Tattoos come off with baby oil.
  • Avoid storing Waterless Tattoos in direct sunlight or over heat sources such as heaters or heat vents.
  • If they must be transported in a hot cargo area or stored in a car prior to an event, use an insulated lunch sack or a small 6-pack cooler.
