Cakes are an important part of every birthday. Whether it's your 5th, 16th, 25th or 75th birthday, the cakes are always the most expected and wanted foodie that everyone looks forward to. Except for the number of candles, nothing changes much in cakes until you want to attach a specific theme to suit your birthday year. The ever favorite birthday cakes are Chocolate Fudge Cakes and Poppy Seed Cake. So those of you who are looking forward to your next birthday can ask your mom or ask the baker to prepare it for you. The following ingredients are required for the Chocolate fudge cakes.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • 2 cups flour
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 sticks butter
  • 1 cup water
  • 2/3 heaping tablespoons cocoa
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon soda
  • 1/2 cup buttermilk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla

Step1
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Step2
Grease and flour a 9 x 13-inch baking pan.
Step3
Using a sifter, sift the flour into a bowl. Add in the sugar and salt. reshift a second time into the bowl. In a saucepan, mix together the butter, water and cocoa; bring to a boil. Add warm chocolate mixture to the flour and stir thoroughly. In a separate bowl, mix together the eggs, baking soda, buttermilk and vanilla. Add to chocolate batter and mix completely until batter is smooth. Pour into cake pan.
Step4
Once the cake is ready it's time to decorate the cake. Some like to put in themes to the cakes. If it's a kid’s birthday, then one may go for the pirate theme or if the kid is a cartoon lover, edible cartoon characters can be added to the cake.
