How to Make Beef Jerky!

Beef Jerky is a staple for the outdoor person and this recipe is sure to please!!

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Soy Sauce
  • Garlic Salt
  • Ground Pepper
  • Flank Steak
  1. Step 1

    Purchase a Flank Steak (you determine how much!) and cut it in 1/4 inch wide strips about 4 inches long. Use only lean meat!

  2. Step 2

    Marinade:
    Mix together; 1/4 cup Soy Sauce, 3/4 cup Water, 2 Teaspoon Garlic Salt, 2 Teaspoon Coarse Ground Pepper

  3. Step 3

    Place the marinade in a Tupperware type bowl that will hold all the meat you have sliced. Let the meat marinate for 24 hours.

  4. Step 4

    Place strips of meat directly on the oven rack covered with foil. Bake in a low oven around 275º and leave oven door cracked open. Bake 6-8 hours. Meat should be dried.

Tips & Warnings
  • Add more salt or spice as your taste dictates!
  • Do not leave oven unattended!

on 8/30/2007 I only do this in Winter, but at that low temp it doesn't really get hot. It is just a crack, not the whole door standing open.
