Instructions

    • 1

Keep your hair clean. Greasy roots or flyaway ends leave your hair looking unmanageable and messy no matter what you do.

    • 2

Use a good leave-in conditioner or serum to reduce the frizzies before you go to bed. Use just a little to control out-of-control hair, but don't use too much or you can end up making it look greasy and lifeless.

    • 3

Brush out your hair before going to bed after using the leave-in products to remove all the tangles.

    • 4

Tie your hair up at the crown of your head to give your hair volume, or at the nape of your neck to keep your hair smooth. In the morning you should be able to pull your hair out of the hair tie, brush it and go.

    • 5

Purchase satin pillow cases to avoid bedhead. Satin fabric is great because your hair slides across it; it is easy on the hair cuticles because you don't have to pull on the hair so much when it gets tangled.

    • 6

Cut your hair short. This can either cut down the instances of bedhead, or for men, if the hair is cut short enough, can almost eliminate it.

Tips & Warnings

  • The bedhead look can be a great hair style, if done right. However, avoid dirty-looking, messy hair, which is never in style.
