Step 1
Clean the board after each use. Even though you probably use your wakeskate board in fresh water, the water is full of minerals and salts that can corrode the board. Wash the board off with tap water as soon as you can and then dry it with a soft towel.
-
Step 2
Transport the board in a soft sock or bag. Stress and trauma to the board is often imperceptible. Small damage to the board accumulates over time and will negatively impact the board's performance. Buy a soft sock for the board so that transporting it doesn't result in damage or diminished performance.
-
Step 3
Store the board correctly. When you're not wake skating on the board, keep the board out of sunlight and on a proper stand. Direct sunlight will cause the board to warp, while leaning the board on something, or leaning something on the board, will result in damage or an alteration of the board's shape.
-
Step 4
Reapply the epoxy and paint. To fully maintain your wake skate board you should reapply the paint and epoxy. Sand the original epoxy and paint from the board. Then, hang the board and reapply a coat of epoxy and add another layer of marine paint. This will keep the board strong and will mitigate any effects that the water might have on the board over time.
