Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

Slice three fresh lemons into six pieces each and put them into a pot.

  2. Step 2

Cover the lemon slices with water and bring the pot to a boil and then reduce the heat to a low setting. Simmer the lemon slices and water for one hour and make sure to keep adding additional water as it evaporates.

  3. Step 3

Allow the water to cool to a comfortable temperature, and remove the pieces of lemon using a large slotted spoon.

  4. Step 4

Squeeze the lemon sections into the pot, adding any remaining juice to the boiled liquid.

  5. Step 5

Strain the liquid from the cooking pot into a spray bottle and refrigerate. This homemade hair spray can be used for up to a week.

  • If your hair is very dry, use oranges instead of lemons in your homemade hair spray.
  • Add water to the hair spray any time it becomes too thick.
