Sign up for a MySpace account. Go to the MySpace homepage and create an account by typing in a valid email address and a password. MySpace requires the password to have at least one number in it.

Insert the URL of a picture of the desired background picture. This can be a personal favorite photo, or you can find lots of photos at the Photobucket website. Position the picture in the desired way. When finished, click "Next."

Decide if you want simple or advanced text mode. Choose the desired colors, font, size and style for the text. When you finish, click "Next."

      • 5

Choose the appearance of the scrollbars for the layout. Select the colors for the arrows and choose highlight and shadow colors. After these have been chosen, click "Next."

Adjust other aspects of the layout such as the page cursor, friends, image filter and extended network. When this is just right, click "Next."

      • 7

Look through pre-made contact tables, or make a custom one. Also create a network banner and an online icon URL. Click "Next" to create a slideshow or "Finish" to preview, share, save or generate the custom layout.

    Tips & Warnings

    • If the layout preview isn't showing up, hold down the "Ctrl" key while clicking preview.

    • Don't use explicit or obscene pictures in the layout. Otherwise, MySpace will delete the account.
