In the broad sense of the term, Gospel music includes all types of Christian music dating back to the African slaves when they came to America. This religious-themed music genre includes Gospel choirs like The Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir, singing combo groups like The Statler Brothers, Christian country artists Randy Travis and Alan Jackson and the modern Christian music of today sung by Kirk Franklin and Yolanda Adams.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Step1
Listen to Gospel music on the radio. Find a Christian music radio station in your area. Many of them have certain times set aside specifically for Gospel music. Some country music radio stations also have a Gospel hour.
Step2
Look for music online. Rhapsody.com has a large supply of artists to choose from. There's an abundant supply of online radio stations that play gospel music 24/7.
Step3
Build your CD collection so you are able to listen to your favorites whenever you like. Enjoy the music of Kirk Franklin in his new Album "Hero," the spiritual centered R&B duo of Bebe & Cece Winans in their #1 hit "I'll Take You There" or the southern Gospel music of Bill and Gloria Gather.
Step4
Lastly, look online or in your local paper for Gospel concerts at area churches or concert halls. Go to a traditional southern church on Sunday morning to hear gospel music in its best environment.
