Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Step1
Make sure a Casio digital camera is for you. Casio specializes is ultra-compact digital cameras. This makes them good choices for people who want to take their digital camera everywhere they go or want to conceal it in a pocket or purse. However, they typically do not offer the advanced features or long zoom ranges as some other, larger cameras.
Step2
Decide how you will use the camera. Determine if you need an ultra-compact camera for easy transportation, what size of prints you will want and if you must have a zoom lens, needed for sports or snapping quick pictures from across room.
Step3
Choose one of Casio's lower-end cameras to save some money if you only need 4-inch-by-6-inch prints. These lower-end models generally cost under $200 and range between 3 and 6 megapixels. Select a more advanced model, however, if you must have 8-by-10 prints or need a long zoom lens.
Step4
Compare digital camera models at the Casio website. Click on the "Products" tab and then on "Cameras." They list the specifications of each camera and give you a description as well. Narrow your choice to one that best suits what you need.
Step5
Read reviews for your chosen camera at the Digital Photography Review. Click on "Camera Database" and choose "Casio" to find your camera. Look for reviews at the top of the page for the Casio cameras currently being sold in stores. You may also browse the older models (listed below the newer ones) which can still be purchased online, although no longer sold in stores or listed on Casio's website.
Step6
Find the best deal on your Casio. Compare prices at regular brick-and-mortar stores, and while you are there try out the cameras to see how they feel. Then, check Froogle.com and search for your model and compare prices online to see if you can find a better deal.
