Tips & Warnings
Prior law enforcement or military experience is a good way to get started on becoming a customs inspector.
Customs inspectors are not only at airports but also at docks, checking out ships and borders making sure nothing illegal is brought back in cars.
Illegal activity can keep you from becoming an inspector. The government doesn't want someone addicted to drugs being an inspector since finding illegal drugs is part of the job.
If you don't think you can carry and shoot a gun at someone, this is not the job for you.
