Travel by ferry gives you a sense of freedom, a temporary vacation from the mundane. Use it to your advantage, it's a perfect time to talk to people, enjoy the view or get some work done. Before you do travel by ferry, play out possible life threatening emergency scenarios and make plans to survive.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Step1
Get proficient at swimming. Get real good at treading water. Swim until you feel at home in the water. Study ferry accidents and try to figure out why people didn't survive a ferry accident. Come up with a game plan so that you could survive if things go wrong on the ferry ride.
Step2
Before you travel by ferry, know how long your ride is. Bring magazines, games, electronics, work or any other activity to make time fly by. Put them all in a bag or backpack. Bring a camera and a pad so that you could write about this.
Step3
Go to the ticket counter. Purchase your ticket. Then stand in line or sit on a bench while waiting for your ride. Read if the lighting is good. But don't do anything that takes your attention away from your main goal--travel by ferry that day.
Step4
Get in line as your time approaches. Wait for the passengers to debark the ferry. Don't run. If you like standing and fresh air when you travel by ferry, you could go to the front or sit at the top. If they have seating available there.
Step5
Walk around the ferry. Enjoy a cup of coffee or a snack if a ferry offers such services. Do some work, or read, if the ferry transit is long. Inch your way to the exit once the ferry gets to its destination.
