Step1
Spread the word about your group. Post flyers, talk to friends and send out emails to get people interested. Let them know your intentions and goals for the group.
Step2
Decide on a time and place to meet, and decide how frequently you would like to meet. Try meeting at different times to accommodate different schedules.
Step3
Talk with each other about your fitness goals. Express how much weight you would like to lose or how many miles you would like to be able to run or walk. Discuss nutrition goals as well.
Step4
Support and encourage one another. You may even want to try a reward system, or divide your fitness group members into two teams who compete against one another. Being part of a team encourages people to work harder and lose more weight because they don't want to let their team down.
Step5
Vary your exercise routine so that no one gets bored. Keep your fitness group exciting by incorporating bicycling, hiking, swimming, dancing and playing sports into your exercise regime.
Step6
Find an indoor place where you can meet if the weather is bad. You can even meet at the mall to walk. Try community fitness centers for other indoor places where you can work out.
