Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • A breeding pair of fennec foxes.
  • A large den.
  1. Step 1

Breed them. Buy the best breeding pair of fennec foxes you can afford, house them in a large den with good hiding places and room to play, and let them mate.

  2. Step 2

Raise them. The kits will be born 50 to 52 days after mating and must be taken from their parents from two to ten days later. This ensures they will be well socialized and used to human contact.

  3. Step 3

Register them. Make sure your fennec fox kits are vaccinated and registered with one of the online services that tracks fennec bloodlines. This allows you to charge more for your kits when you sell them.

  4. Step 4

Advertise them. Develop your own website with plenty of pictures of the kits for the best online advertising, while also joining fennec fox groups online to meet other enthusiasts. Exotic pet magazines may also be a good place to publicize your available kits.

  5. Step 5

Sell them. This may be difficult; after hand-raising the kits, you may be very attached to the beautiful babies. Screen your buyers to ensure you are selling your kits to good homes, accept their checks and kiss your babies good-bye.

Tips & Warnings
  • Raising healthy, well-socialized kits will help you build a reputation as a high-quality breeder. Make sure you take them to your veterinarian and spend plenty of time handling them.
