If the problem is severe, there are medical options. Read on to learn more.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Antiperspirant
  • Cotton clothing
  • Absorbant shoes
  1. Step 1

Wear a good, maximum stregnth antiperspirant. The deodorant is made to plug up the sweat ducts under the arms and prevent the sweat from coming out through the skin.

  2. Step 2

Buy clothes made of cotton or other natural fibers. Choose lighter colors and fabrics as natural fibers are breathable and thus cooler. They also absorb the sweat quicker.

  3. Step 3

Try shoes with absorbant soles that takes in the excess sweat from the feet. Use cornstarch or talcum power and over-the-counter foot spray to counter wetness in shoes.

  4. Step 4

Alternate shoes so you wear a different pair every other day. This allows the other shoes to dry out. Wear sandals so air circulates and keeps feet drier.

  5. Step 5

Seek medical treatment if the sweating under the arms, feet and palms of hands is severe and can't be treated at home.

Tips & Warnings
  • There are medical options such as surgery and other treatments that can be suitable for teens with excessive sweat problems.
  • Send extra clothes for teens to change frequently at school if they feel self-conscious about their sweating.
  • Give teens designated times to shower more frequently if sweating is a problem.
  • Don't eat spicy foods that are known to trigger sweating.
  • Avoid hot liquids such as cocoa, coffee and soups.
