Jojoba oil comes from the bean of the jojoba shrub (Simmondisia chinenis). It is native to Sonoran Desert and surrounding area in northwestern Mexico, southern Arizona and California. Native Americans knew of its therapeutic properties for centuries and its use was first documented by Father Junipero Serra in the 18th century. The following steps will show how to use jojoba oil for health.

Instructions

Difficulty: Challenging

Step1
Cleanse, condition, moisturize and soften the skin with jojoba oil. It penetrates deeply and can be applied directly to the skin to reduce stretch marks and wrinkles. Joboba also may heal and lighten scars.
Step2
Use Jojoba oil as a hair conditioner. It will mix with the sebum that is naturally produced and may be used to condition the hair. The excess sebum will dissolve, leaving the hair clean. Jojoba also may be used to dissolve hair preparations and hair spray.
Step3
Buy commercial products such as conditioners, moisturizers, nail care products, shampoos and skin lotions that contain Jojoba oil. Jojoba oil is stable and will remain unaffected in these products after other oils have broken down or become rancid.
Step4
Expect Jojoba oil to also have potential use in the treatment of acne, cold sores and skin diseases such as psoriasis, although this has not been well-studied.
Step5
Consider Jojoba oil to be safe without significant side effects. It has been used for decades and has been well-studied. Jojoba does not clog pores nor does it bioaccumulate.
