Making sure of your surroundings, especially when traveling, should always be at the back of your mind. Plan what you might do if someone tries to attack you in the street, while using public transportation or driving in your own vehicle. Make sure you know what to do if you are with other people such as your children or friends. A plan of action is not a bad idea. Read on to learn more.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy
Step1
Keep up to date of public safety alerts no matter where you are. Each company building, college, or school is mandated to post any occurrence publicly for their employee or students' awareness. Know where there have been attacks and try to stay clear of those areas.
Step2
Get together a few friends or co-workers when leaving a building late at night to prevent an attack from happening. Attackers usually will not try to attack groups; it is too risky for them.
Step3
Walk in well lit areas at night. If possible try to keep to more crowded places.
Step4
Know what you will do if someone was to come up to you. Give the attacker whatever money he wants but try to get away from him as soon as possible. Try to push him away while screaming "Help me!" If you make enough noise the attacker might leave you alone.

Tips & Warnings

  • Keep close all personal belongings, especially when traveling. All important documents should be kept close to the body. Passports should be left at the hotel and a copy should be carried with you at all times.
