You don't have to spend your days riding waves to look like a beach babe. Tousled and textured, sun-kissed locks always make for a good hair day. Achieving this look doesn't require a day at the beach. Read on to learn more.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • Styling molding mud, mousse or gel
  • Spray bottle of saltwater
Step1
Wash and condition hair before going to bed.
Step2
Apply a styling aid. For thinner hair, use a heavy product like molding mud to gain texture. Thicker hair should use a lightweight mousse or spritzer to add weight. Give hair a good scrunching before going to bed.
Step3
Sleep on damp hair.
Step4
Wake up to textured locks with added volume.
Step5
Fill a spray bottle with 1 cup water and 5 tsp. salt. Spray hair until damp. Scrunch sections of hair as you blow dry it.

Tips & Warnings

  • After applying styling products, braid your hair. Take out the braids the next morning and find textured curls. Bigger braids give softer curls, while smaller braids produce kinkier results.
  • To achieve beach beautiful locks, consider highlights. Visit a hair salon to get professional-grade blond highlights or do it yourself. Spray-in hair lighteners can be bought at drug stores.
