Find high altitude mountains nearby. Many high altitude mountains are blanketed with snow at all times of the year. When the snow runs a little light on the slopes, resort operators supplement it with some manufactured snow. Find a tall mountain where snowboarding and skiing goes on around the year.

Make use of other hemispheres. The southern hemisphere has opposite seasons to the northern hemisphere. Instead of spending the summer surfing or lazing around on a beach, get to a close southern hemisphere destination such as Chile where you can keep snowboarding.

Find an indoor snow resort. There are indoor snow resorts all over the world. An indoor resort offers prime quality snow even when it's 100 degrees Fahrenheit in the parking lot. Check out the indoor snow resorts in your area to keep your snowboarding skills up to date during the off season.

Substitute snow for other terrain. Many snowboarders ditch the heavy down jackets and gloves and throw on a pair of shorts to hit the soft sand dunes of deserts. The consistency and texture of the sand closely enough resembles snow to get an excellent "snowboarding" session in. Find good sand snowboarding dunes near you.
