At first glance, Facebook looks like every other social networking site out there. You can find old high school friends or coworkers and chat with them through their personal pages. The real fun of the site comes when you start to explore Facebook applications. You can keep tabs on your friends in fun ways, list your likes and dislikes, show others your favorite songs and so much more. Read on to learn how to explore Facebook applications.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Step1
Find applications. On the left side of your Facebook page is the word "Applications." You can click on it to view the current applications that you have installed, or choose "Browse More Applications" to see what else is available to you. If you want to edit something, you can click on "Edit Settings" to change settings or to delete an application.
Step2
Go with the flow or be a trendsetter. There are four ways you can explore Facebook applications. Click on the tab that says "Recently Popular" to find out what applications are hot right now among other users. Choose the tab labeled "Most Users" to find out which applications are the most popular overall, or choose the tab labeled "Newest" to check out the newest application available to the Facebook community. You can also choose to explore applications by category.
Step3
Install the applications you like best. Once you find something that piques your interest, it's time to install it and share it with the rest of your friends. After clicking on the title of the application you want, click "Add Application" to install it. A confirmation screen appears, on which you should choose "Add XYZ Application" to complete the install.
Step4
Customize your application. Depending on the application, you may be asked for further information after the installation process is complete. Fill out any necessary information, or jump right in and start experimenting with the new application.
Step5
Check out your profile. Click on your profile to see what your friends can now see.
