Burping on demand is a really cool thing to be able to do in some circles. This is especially true if you can burp your ABC's or songs. All of us can burp when it is needed as the pressure of gas comes on its own. For some people though, burping on demand is a much desired skill, whether it is for impressing friends or relieving stomach pressure. Follow these steps to learn how to burp.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Swallow a large amount of air. This is easily done by drinking from an empty cup. Swallow quickly.

  2. Step 2

Push out your throat like a bull frog, or how you normally would if you were to burp. The air should rush out quickly.

  3. Step 3

Apply pressure to your stomach to assist in pushing out the air. Sometimes it helps to suck your stomach in as you attempt to burp.

  4. Step 4

Practice regularly. As with everything that you do, practice makes perfect when attempting to burp on demand.

  5. Step 5

Try to burp words or songs once you have mastered the art of the burp. A good starting point is burping the ABC's.

  6. Step 6

Participate in a burping contest now that you are a professional. Demonstrate your newly acquired skill to the rest of the playground or poker game, depending on your age or maturity level.

Tips & Warnings
  • This is probably not something to practice around your mom, dad or grandparents unless they enjoy doing it, too.
  • Attempting to burp for extended periods of time may result in vomiting instead. Be careful.
