Bleach spritzing is a cool and cheap way to make fashionable designs on your clothing. It is a quick process, usually only taking two minutes or so, and costs relatively nothing. You can bleach spritz your existing clothing or buy something new to enhance. Follow these steps to learn how to bleach spritz clothing.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • Bleach
  • Perfume or spray bottle
Step1
Get black colored clothing from a thrift or discount clothing store. Although you can go with another color, it will just change to white whereas black goes from black to gray, orange and then white.
Step2
Pour bleach in a spritz style perfume bottle or spray bottle. The perfume bottle does a fine mist, while the spray bottle looks like dripping water.
Step3
Lay the garment on a flat surface that can't be damaged by bleach. Stay away from carpeted areas and hardwood floors. Do the project outside if you can to minimize the smell of the bleach fumes.
Step4
Make a design on the clothing. Use refrigerator magnet letters or stencils--be creative. Just remember that the covered area is going to be the design.
Step5
Spritz over the design and surrounding area with bleach. The heavier the bleach spritz, the lighter the area is going to be and the darker the design will appear.
Step6
Wait two minutes and then remove the letters or stencil with care. Rinse the clothing in cold water until the water runs clear. Lay the garment in the sun to dry.

Tips & Warnings

  • Use care when handling bleach. Read the manufacturer's label on the container to learn safety precautions.
  • Label the spray bottle so nobody mistakes it for something else.
