How to Make Halloween Goody Bags

Halloween is one of those wildly fun holidays that children and adults get into equally. When throwing a Halloween bash for kids, the big folks want to make sure the little ghouls and goblins have the best time possible, and a little something to remember the experience besides. Here is how to make great Halloween goody bags for just such an occasion.

Instructions

1. Start with treat bags that feature a fun Halloween theme. Pumpkins, bats, skeletons, ghosts, and black cats are classic examples, but really anything goes. You can even make your own if you have the time and are feeling especially creative.

2. Add plenty of candy. Yes, it's a taboo food group nowadays, but there has to be a few exceptions. Put in the good stuff, too! Surely they'll get an ample supply of Tootsie Rolls and Smarties when they go trick-or-treating (not that Tootsie Rolls and Smarties aren't tasty, but they really will be getting a ton of them).

3. Find plenty of stuff that glows. Mini glow-sticks and glow necklaces are great choices, and will add to the Halloween party atmosphere.

4. Go to a party specialty store and load up on bulk packs of Halloween-themed party favors. Here, you will usually find bouncy balls, pencils, squirt guns, and other small toys.

5. Throw in some Mardi Gras beads in various Halloween-themed colors like orange, black, and green.

6. Throw in some mini-tubs of modeling clay in Halloween colors.

Tips & Warnings

• Consider the ages of the children you are making these goody bags for. For small children, do not add any items that might be a choking hazard.

• Consider putting a small warning sticker on the bags should any of the candy contain nuts, as some children have severe nut allergies.
