To start a Royal Ranger Outpost, you must motivate parents and volunteers to invest in the lives of young boys. It is a lot of fun and learning rolled into one. Here's how to start.
Establish the leadership for the Royal Ranger program. Get the local pastor involved by educating him and having him pray about how he can support the Royal Rangers. Get the Church involved by letting them in on the new adventure available to boys in their area. Familiarize the ministry oversight with the Royal Ranger program. Compose an Outpost Council of 3 to 5 men who are devoted to the program.
Step2
Charter the Outpost. Meet the requirements of establishing the Outpost first. To meet the requirements you must have at least 5 boys committed to the program, you must have met regularly for three sessions, have a committed leader and paid the registration fee. Chartering can be done by contacting your district leadership team.
Step3
Get training through the Royal Ranger Leaders Manual, a mentor who has been through the Royal Ranger training and completed formal Royal Ranger training. The Royal Ranger training occurs regularly and can be found in most areas of the U.S. Check the Royal Ranger website for dates and times.
Step4
Order the supplies. There is a list of supplies on the Royal Ranger website. Supplies you will need include the Leaders Guide, Royal Rangers Leaders Manual, workbooks and handbooks.
Step5
Invite the boys and begin the first meeting. Each meeting should begin with the "Opening Ceremonies." Leaders will present the American flag surrounded by the Christian flag and the Royal Ranger flag. Lead the Pledge of allegiance and pray for the meeting. Then open the meeting.
