Learning a language can be challenging and necessary if you work in the international marketplace. Learning to speak with the proper accent makes you more comprehensible to native speakers. Read this eHow to learn how to speak with a Spanish accent.

Difficulty: Moderately Challenging
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Learn a Latin American Spanish accent or "Highland" Spanish. You will hear this form of Spanish in countries such as Mexico, Peru, Bolivia and Columbia. Each letter is pronounced, and the "r" is emphasized.

  2. Step 2

Speak with a "Trade Wind" Spanish accent, which is found in the Caribbean, coastal Latin America and some parts of southern Spain. Drop the final "s", speak rapidly and informally.

  3. Step 3

Talk Castillian Spanish, also the Spanish of northern Madrid, by pronouncing "ce" and "ci" as "th." Also, use "vosotros" instead of the more common "usetedas."

  4. Step 4

Use the Spanish found in Uruguay and Buenos Aires. Say "vos" instead of "tĂș." Pronounce "ll" as the "th," rather than the more usual "y."

  5. Step 5

Listen to tapes or recordings from each of the different regions of Spain. This will perfect your accent. Sites like the Super Improved Website and Edsitement can help.

on 12/5/2008 Additional steps:

1. Talk with Spanish people
2. Different accents are used by various spanish-speaking people
3. Children would easily pick up the accent than Adults.
4. Watch Spanish cartoons and movies
5. You can tell Spanish accents normally by the rolling of the r's and how the Spanish people say 'th' a lot.
6. If you refer to Castillian Spanish then that's what the majority of people speak in Spain, only in Spain.
If you refer to the different tones used in several countries along Latin America then each country has its own "tone" or way to speak Spanish.
7. Try reading a lot of books it will improve
Your best option is to hang out with people who don't have the same accent.

Over time you'll instinctively start to talk more like them, but it will be more gradual and more natural.Good luck
