The engagement party is an informal celebration of a couple's decision to marry. The location of this event can provide a memorable backdrop for this happy occasion. Picking the right location for the engagement party is an important part of the planning.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Decide on who is hosting the engagement party. Usually the parents of the bride host the engagement party, but close friends or friends or the newly engaged couple can host their own engagement party.

  2. Step 2

Set a budget for the party based on who's hosting the party. Once the budget is set, the host can choose which locations are viable. Include food, favors and decorations in the budget estimates.

  3. Step 3

Select a style or theme for the engagement party. For example, a movie night themed engagement party location could be a friend's home decorated with movie posters or a movie theater. Remember to include the couple's interests to make the party personal.

  4. Step 4

Determine the best date for the engagement party that fits the couple's schedules. Some couples wait until the engagement to officially announce their engagements, so if this is the case, be sure the timeframe until the party is soon so as to not spoil the secret before the party.

  5. Step 5

Create a guest list of the closest local friends and family to be a part of the engagement party. Since the engagement party is informal, inviting out-of-town guests is not necessary.

  6. Step 6

Review several choices within the budget that accommodate the guest list and theme. Possible locations include a private home, hotel, restaurant, clubhouse, park, lake house, vineyard, beach or a gallery.
