Various print options are available in Microsoft Publisher, including modifying print quality, colors and size. Other options are also available depending on the printer brand you have. You can also prepare your publication for a commercial printing service using the "Pack and Go" wizard.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • Microsoft Publisher software
Step1
Start Microsoft Publisher and open the file you want to print.
Step2
Run the design checker before the final print, accessed from the "Tool" menu. A separate dialog box will open and you can select options to check.
Step3
Access the print options dialog box by selecting "Print" from the "File" menu. Make sure your printer is listed in the drop-down menu box, and then choose "Properties" to reach the more advanced print options. Available options vary by printer brand.
Step4
Click "Pack and Go" from the "File" menu to prepare you publication for professional printing. A dialog box will open and you must select specific options, including the drive where you want the packed file saved, such as a flash drive, CD-Rom or floppy drive. Files entitled "packed01.puz," "unpack.exe" and "readme.txt" will be created.
Step5
Choose options with the "Pack and Go" wizard. Fonts are embedded, the file is compacted, and graphics included in the file package. Large files may be split into multiple parts, although this occurs less frequently if you pack it to a large flash drive or CD.
Step6
Open the "unpack.exe" file to unpack your file for printing.
